Fake Video Call Screen

A video meeting that is always in progress. Choose a Zoom, Teams or Meet style, add up to 16 participants with their names, and someone different is always talking. Nothing is recorded or sent, and your camera is never used.

Tip: double-click the call to go full screen. The settings disappear and it fills the display. Esc exits.

What people use a fake video call screen for

How to set it up

  1. Pick the style that matches the app your audience knows.
  2. Set the number of people and type their names, one per line.
  3. Give the meeting a title, then press Fullscreen.
  4. The timer counts up and a green or blue border moves between speakers every few seconds, just like a real call.

Want the screen to look busy without a meeting? Try the fake work screen. To keep the laptop from going to sleep while it runs, open the online mouse jiggler in another window. More ideas are in fake video call screen ideas.

Fake video call FAQ

Does the fake video call use my camera?

No. Participants appear as coloured initials, as if their cameras were off. The page never asks for camera or microphone access.

Can I join a real meeting with this?

No. It is a static web page that only looks like a meeting. It doesn't connect to Zoom, Teams, Meet or anyone else.

How many people can I add?

Up to 16, including you. The grid rearranges itself automatically: 2 columns for up to 4 people, 3 for up to 9 and 4 for more.

Will it stop my status showing "Away"?

No. Meeting apps set your status from their own activity, not from what is on screen.
