A hacker screen that needs no typing
The normal Hacker Typer only moves when you press keys. That is perfect for a prank where you sit at the keyboard, but it is no use when you want a screen to look busy on its own. This page solves that. The code keeps writing itself at a natural, slightly uneven pace until you pause it.
Three styles are available from the Style menu:
- Code + matrix rain is the default: scrolling source code on top of falling green characters.
- Code only is a clean terminal, good when the screen needs to be readable on camera.
- Matrix rain only is the classic falling-character effect with no code.
Good uses for a fake hacking screen
- Second monitor decoration. Leave it running beside your real work.
- Film, theatre and school projects. A believable computer screen for a set without needing an actor to type.
- Stream and video backgrounds. Capture the browser window as a source in your streaming software.
- Party and event displays. Put it on a TV through a laptop or a phone with screen mirroring.

Hacker Typer Screen FAQ
How do I make the hacker typer screen full screen?
Press the Fullscreen button above the screen. The toolbar stays at the top so you can change style, and Esc exits full screen. You can also press F11 to put the whole browser in full screen.
Does the screen keep running forever?
Yes. The code loops and the matrix rain continues until you press Pause or close the tab. Your device may still dim or sleep according to its own power settings.
Can I use it as a screensaver?
It is a web page rather than an installed screensaver, but you can open it in full screen and leave it running for the same effect.
Can I change the colour?
Yes. The Color menu switches both the code and the matrix rain between green, amber, blue, red and white.
