Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information is handled when you use hackertyper.app ("the site") and what choices you have. The short version: you do not need an account, we do not ask for personal details, and what you type into the tools stays in your browser.
Information we do not collect
- What you type. Key presses in the tools are only used to show the next piece of code. They are not recorded or transmitted.
- Files you load. If you load a text, CSV or spreadsheet file in the Hacker Typer settings, it is read inside your browser and is not uploaded.
- Text you convert. Text entered in the hacker text generator and the text to binary converter is processed in your browser and is not sent to us.
- Generated passwords. The password generator creates passwords in your browser. They are not sent to us, logged or stored.
- Prank target names. The name you enter on the prank page is used only in the page and is not sent to us.
- Accounts. The site has no sign-up, login or user profiles.
Information collected automatically
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages they use. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, and the site that referred you. Google's handling of this data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Advertising and push notifications
The site is funded by advertising. A third-party advertising service loaded from push-sdk.com may ask your browser for permission to send push notifications. If you allow it, that service registers a service worker in your browser and can send you notifications, which may include advertisements, even when the site is not open. That provider may collect technical information such as your IP address, browser and device details, and a notification subscription identifier, and may use cookies or similar technologies.
Notifications are optional. You can decline the prompt, and you can withdraw permission at any time in your browser: open the site settings for hackertyper.app (usually through the padlock or settings icon in the address bar) and set Notifications to Block, or remove the site from the notification list in your browser's privacy settings.
Fonts and libraries
The home page loads fonts from Google Fonts, and loads a spreadsheet-reading library from cdn.sheetjs.com only if you choose to load an .xlsx file. When your browser requests these files, those providers receive your IP address and basic browser information, as with any web request.
Server logs
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (IP address, time, requested page, browser type) for security and troubleshooting.
Cookies
We do not set cookies for our own purposes beyond what the services above use. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the tools will keep working.
Children
The site is a general-audience entertainment site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data, or to object to certain processing. Because we do not hold accounts or profiles, most data connected with your visit is held by the third-party providers named above, and their privacy pages explain how to exercise those rights with them. You can also contact us and we will help where we can.
Links to other sites
Advertisements and some articles link to other websites. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the site or the services it uses change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
